Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama attended the 81st May Day Central Rally held at Yoyogi Park, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, and delivered an address.

The Prime Minister said in his address, "We must drastically change Japan to become a society where people can regain both happiness and vitality. We are now able to implement the child allowance and make high school tuition effectively free. I am confident that everyone will certainly be able to feel that this country is changing in a real sense."
