Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama visited Nara Prefecture to observe a pharmaceutical plant in Gose City and Heijokyu Palace, a special historic site in Nara City.

After visiting these sites, Prime Minister Hatoyama stated his impressions, saying, "I think it was a very meaningful day visiting the historic site of Heijokyo, which is celebrating the 1,300th anniversary of becoming a capital, and looking at the future while contemplating the past. I was deeply impressed by the spirit demonstrated by the people there, who are willing to take on future challenges through individual efforts while cherishing traditions. I was very inspired."
