Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama held the second meeting of the New Public Commons Roundtable at the Prime Minister's Office.

Discussions took place on the nature of tax systems, among other matters.

Based on the discussions, Prime Minister Hatoyama said, "Even today, we have not yet stripped away the barriers of jurisdiction within the government. I sincerely hope for the new government to break these barriers in a thorough manner. I would also like to actively discuss the expansion of tax incentives for donations. I extend my appreciation for having been able to conduct very fruitful discussions with Chair Ikuyo Kaneko playing a central role."
