Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama received a courtesy call at the Prime Minister's Office from medalists of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2009, which was held in London. The three athletes who paid the courtesy call were: Mr. Kohei Uchimura, who won the first place in Men's Individual All-around; Ms. Koko Tsurumi, the second place winner in Women's Uneven Bars and the third place winner in Individual All-round; and Mr. Kazuhito Tanaka, the third place winner in Men's Parallel Bars.

Prime Minister Hatoyama shook hands with each athlete, thanking them for their efforts and saying, "Congratulations. It was remarkable." He once again praised their performance when he took Ms. Tsurumi's bronze medal in his hands and said "I am so impressed."
