On March 11, 2021, the Prime Minister attended the Memorial Ceremony Marking the Tenth Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, held at Tokyo’s National Theater in the presence of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.

Following the moment of silence, the Prime Minister delivered an address.

This was followed by the address given by His Majesty the Emperor. Afterwards, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the House of Councillors, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and the representatives of the bereaved family members and the people affected by disaster each gave a memorial address. Then, the participants offered flowers.
