On September 17, 2020, the Prime Minister spoke to the press at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Regarding his state of mind the day after the inauguration of his Cabinet, the Prime Minister said,
“I am really thrilled to start the job. Yesterday, I gave detailed instructions to each minister, and tomorrow, we will appoint state ministers and parliamentary vice-ministers. Afterwards, getting the Cabinet that works for the People started, I want to meet the people’s expectations by delivering concrete results.”
Responding to a question from a reporter regarding ending the practice of holding the cherry blossom viewing party, the Prime Minister said,
“I will not request any budget for that.”
