On September 11, 2020, the Prime Minister spoke to the press at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Regarding the Statement by the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister said,

“These are important discussions on the protection of the lives and property of the people. We have discussed these issues five times at the National Security Council (NSC). I will be leaving office and, taking this opportunity of my departure, I have sorted out our discussions to date and presented them to the public in the form of my statement. I hope that the next Cabinet will also thoroughly discuss these issues.”

Responding to a question from a reporter, the Prime Minister said,

“This will not bind (the next Cabinet’s discussions). It is a matter of course and the greatest responsibility of the Government to advance seamlessly the discussions on the protection of the lives and property of the people. The next Cabinet will deepen the discussions and fulfill its responsibility. I believe that is a matter of course.”
