On April 25, 2020, the Prime Minister spoke to the press at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Regarding the government staff member tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and other matters, the Prime Minister said,

“Since the staff member at the Office for Novel Coronavirus Disease Control tested positive, Minister Nishimura has been self-quarantined at home. This makes us become aware that we are all at risk of infection and, at the same time, of spreading the disease to other people, thus requiring us to exercise maximum care.

The government will continue to exert every effort to manage this crisis.

We will see good weather today and tomorrow. I would like to once again ask the public to
refrain from going outside as much as possible and take measures to protect themselves, taking also into account the 10 points for reducing people-to-people contact, which the government has explained.”
