On November 28, 2019, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office.

With regard to North Korea’s missile launch, the Prime Minister said,

“While they were not confirmed to have fallen within Japan’s territory or exclusive economic zone (EEZ), the consecutive launch of missiles by North Korea represents a serious challenge to not only Japan, but also to the international community.

We have just convened a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC).

We will continue to closely collaborate with the international community, including the United States and the Republic of Korea, and exert every effort to protect the lives and property of the people, with vigilance and surveillance.”
