On November 15, 2019, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office.
 
Regarding the cherry blossom viewing party, the Prime Minister said,
 
“Speaking about the Diet, it is up to the Diet to decide matters related to it. If it does make a request, the Government will of course attend the session and provide explanations.”
 
The Prime Minister also said,
 
“Regarding your follow-up question about intensive deliberations in the Diet, that is also a matter for the Diet to decide. If the Diet decides to hold them, then the Government will of course offer explanations.”
 
Furthermore, the Prime Minister stated,
 
“With respect to your question, as I have already stated to the Diet, I understand that my office worked diligently on this matter.
