On October 2, 2019, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office.

With regard to North Korea’s missile launch, the Prime Minister said,

“North Korea launched two ballistic missiles this morning.

These missile launches are in violation of the United Nations resolutions. Japan has lodged a strong protest and strongly condemns this act. After this, we will convene a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) to summarize the situation and discuss the response.

We will remain fully vigilant and continue to undertake maximum efforts to protect the safety of the public, while closely collaborating with the international community, including the United States.”
