On May 29, 2019, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from the members of Y20 (youth representatives from the G20 members and others) at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

“Distinguished members of Y20, thank you all for coming to the Prime Minister’s Office today. I would like to express my respect for the dedication and hard work from the youth representatives of the member countries of the G20 Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy, including Chairman Chiba, who put together the policy recommendations.

With your flexible thinking and creativity, young people like you will play a leading role in social and economic development in the future. The policy recommendations that I received just now are the outcome of your dedicated discussions over long hours. I would like to hear from you about how you ensured the participation of such a diverse group of young people as well as the various views and efforts you made to put the recommendations together, as I will also be going through the same challenges next month.”
