On November 6, 2017, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press occasion at the Prime Minister's Office.

In regard to the incident in Texas in the United States and the visit to Japan by the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, the Prime Minister said,

“First, concerning the tragic incident that occurred in Texas, I wish to extend my condolences for those who lost their lives and my sympathies to all the injured. I would also like to express heartfelt solidarity with the people of the United States during this difficult time.

After this, I would like to have a thorough discussion with President Trump on various international issues, including the issue of North Korea. I also would like to communicate to the world the strength of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.”
