Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended the Meeting of the Government and Ruling Parties at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, the FY2015 supplementary budget was compiled.

Based on the compiled budget, the Prime Minister said,

“Today we were able to compile the FY2015 supplementary budget. Although you only had an extremely short time period, the members of the ruling parties here deepened discussion and compiled proposals. I would like to once again express my gratitude for your hard work.

Since this autumn, the Abe Cabinet has started the new challenge of creating a society in which all one hundred million-plus citizens are each dynamically engaged. This supplementary budget is the first step toward this.

We will work to further cement progress toward a GDP of 600 trillion yen while engaging with the issues of the decline in the birthrate and the aging of the population head on.

Making use of the fruits of Abenomics, we will also carry out policies that connect directly to the achievement of the realization of the desired birthrate of 1.8 children per woman and the reduction of the number of people who leave employment to provide nursing care to zero.”
