On June 6 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Ukraine.
In the morning, the Prime Minister offered flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Memorial in Commemoration of Famines’ (Holodomor) Victims in Ukraine, and the Maidan memorial.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister attended a military parade, followed by a summit meeting, signing ceremony, and joint press announcement with H.E. Mr. Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine. Following that, the Prime Minister attended a welcome lunch hosted by President Poroshenko and his wife.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. Mr. Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine, and H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Groysman, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada.
Additionally, the Prime Minister also observed a hybrid car being used by traffic police, and visited Saint Sophia’s Cathedral.
