Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held the ninth meeting of the Council on National Strategic Special Zones at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, debate took place on adding regulatory reforms and other topics.

Based on the discussion, the Prime Minister said in his address,

“Today, thanks to the cooperation of private-sector experts and relevant ministers, it has been possible to compile additional plans for regulatory reforms in relation to National Strategic Special Zones.

Specifically, we have substantially opened up the path to appointing business-minded individuals as heads of healthcare corporations, even if they are not medical doctors.
In addition, a “one-stop center” where individuals setting up new companies can carry out the various procedures at one location will be established.

Senior citizens dispatched by Silver Human Resources Centers  have until now only been able to work 20 hours a week, but we will make it possible for them to work 40 hours.

In addition to the nationally-unified nursery school teacher examination that has been implemented thus far, independent “region-specific nursery school teacher”  qualifications will also be established for local governments struggling with nursery school teacher shortages.

These additional plans take into account the true project needs of motivated local governments and private-sector companies. I am confident that they will bring about further breakthroughs even in areas of vested interests, and give rise to new industries and employment.”
