Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from the four winners of the 45th National Truck Driver Contest at the Prime Minister's Office.
The Truck Driver Contest has been held annually since 1969 by the Japan Trucking Association, with the support of the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the National Police Agency, and others. The contest aims to promote traffic accident prevention and foster among truck drivers a sense of pride and social responsibility as drivers.
The Prime Minister presented trophies to Mr. Haruo Karaki, the winner of the Prime Minister's Award, and three winners of their respective categories.
