Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a letter of resolution from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) parliamentary league for whaling, at the Prime Minister's Office.
The Prime Minister said in his address,
“The Government is deeply disappointed and highly regrets the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Given that a judicial ruling has been made, I would like to carefully review the ruling and determine how best to respond.
In addition, even though we supposedly had all the necessary preparations in place for the case, we still ended up with an unfavorable result, and I have therefore firmly reproached our staff. I believe we must reflect on why Japan's argument was not accepted.”
