Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held the eighth meeting of the Headquarters for Japan's Economic Revitalization at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, discussion took place on the promotion of the growth strategy.

Based on the discussion, the Prime Minister said in his address,

"The growth strategy of the Abe administration is an 'evolving growth strategy.' The decision on the Japan Revitalization Strategy in June was the beginning of the 'evolution.'
We will continue our policy management with top priority placed on economic revitalization. Autumn's extraordinary Diet session will be positioned as the Growth Strategy Implementation Diet, during which we will enact bills necessary for the implementation. We will also implement the tax system and institutional reforms in rapid succession.
Despite it being the election season, we must not stop but proceed with making preparations toward the next steps in the growth strategy.
There are two things I would like to ask of the relevant ministers.
First is with regard to the speed of implementation. I ask that considerations be made on whether we can implement the policies promised to the people under the Japan Revitalization Strategy in a speedy manner and, as much as possible, ahead of schedule.
Second, I ask that each policy be developed not as a matter of form, but with substantial content.
I would like each minister to exercise leadership in considering the next steps in the growth strategy, and coordinate with Minister Amari to realize effective measures and accelerate their implementation. Thank you."
