Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from President of the International Skating Union (ISU), Mr. Ottavio Cinquanta, at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

"I thank you for the tremendous cooperation received for the success of the Nagano Olympics.
Japan is right now working toward bringing the 2020 Olympic Games to Tokyo.
I hope that you will be able to feel the thoughts of Japanese people for sports and the passion that people have for the Tokyo Olympics during your visit to Japan this time."
