Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a proposal on TPP from the Committee on TPP of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

"Receiving this resolution of the Committee on TPP of the Research Commission on Regional Diplomatic and Economic Partnership, LDP, I will once again go over it closely, and then I would like to make the decision tomorrow. Regarding the final decision, so to speak, on whether we will participate or not, we have no choice but to make it in a situation where there is not much time left. Since we will lose the right to discuss at the negotiation table if we miss this occasion, we must make the decision at this point. I would like to extend my gratitude for the intensive discussion being made despite the very short amount of time.
At any rate, we must securely preserve the national interests and the national character of Japan. I would like to make the decision by bearing this in mind."
