Visit to Brazil: Second Day

On May 4, 2024 (local time), Prime Minister Kishida visited São Paulo in the Federative Republic of Brazil.

The Prime Minister attended a welcome ceremony hosted by Nikkei (Japanese immigrants and descendants) communities, offered flowers and prayers at the Mausoleum of Pioneers of Japanese Immigration located in Ibirapuera Park, and visited the Japan Pavilion and Japan House Sao Paulo where he planted a commemorative cherry tree.

Next, the Prime Minister visited Japan House São Paulo, before delivering a policy speech titled “Paving a Pathway to ‘Human Dignity’ with Latin America and the Caribbean” at the University of Sao Paulo. The Prime Minister then received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Geraldo ALCKMIN, Vice-President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of the Federative Republic of Brazil, attended the “Japan-Brazil Business Forum" and lastly held a press conference.
